111 Days On Bikes To Help Fight Cancer

It was on May 1st this year that I started my journey by bike from Munich, Germany, to Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Together with my buddy, flight attendant Jakob. As a student of economics and a part-time photographer, I come from an international background. My father is Chinese and grew up in Italy. I studied in Paris and Berlin.

From my young years, when my uncle died from leukaemia, I decided to do something good, coming from a wealthy country. So my friend Jakob and I travelled 111 days from Germany to China, 13,000 km in total. I am on a self-constructed tallbike; he is on a classical crossbike.

We experienced heat, bad weather, and rain through the mountains and deserts; there was a need for food, and we did not know where to sleep overnight. We also had great experiences and were warmly welcomed in Beijing. Why would I do this adventure again? It was a fantastic adventure, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Finally, it helped us raise 15000 Euros for cancer research. My next trip might be smaller, but I will still be hiking.
