Twibber StoriesTwib-Moment Stole my Night’s Sleep – and I Loved It!
I had a special „twib moment“ yesterday, after the postman delivered a fascinating book:
The book with the title „Wonder Girls“ (created by American photographer Paola Gianturco and her teenage granddaughter) has great pictures and stories of girls, who fight for education, health, equality and the environment, against domestic violence, trafficking, war and much more.
They are between ten and eighteen years old and lead non profit groups in Europe, Asia, North and Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania.
There is for example Lydia, 16, from Malawi (in the photo), who convinced Parliament to outlaw child marriage. There are Mexican girls, who invent mobile phone apps to solve social problems, or Ugandan girls, who advocate for girls’ rights. Their imagination and their courage radiate through their stories, all told in their own words. I couldn’t stop reading and finished the book, which has been published both in German and in English, in a single night.
