No Child Lives Too Far from Life-Saving Vaccinations: 2.5 Billion Were Helped in 20 Years

With the help of thousands of volunteers and health professionals, children across the world have been receiving vaccinations against preventative diseases – no matter the weather, and no matter the location.

Working hand-in-hand with partners, the United Nations Children’s Fund has been fighting for the protection and development of children, supporting vaccination programs in over 95 countries.

In less than two decades, health workers have helped vaccinate 2.5 billion children. The volunteers attend to them even in the harshest conditions, and when all else fails, they use drones to deliver the life-saving vaccines to even the most remote villages that have no access to health centers or electricity – such as ones in Vanuatu, that are only accessible by foot or small banana boats.
