EnvironmentMost Coloradans Want Car Makers to Offer More Electric Vehicles
The government of the US State Colorado has launched a Zero-Emission Vehicles policy which requires car makers to bring more electric vehicles to the market, joining ten other states in their plan to limit traffic-related pollution and gas emissions.
A Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) and Consumer Reports survey reveals that around 3 out of 4 Coloradans want manufacturers to provide more types of electric vehicles such as SUVs, pickup trucks and minivans.
“The future of transportation is electric. The shift to electric vehicles cuts oil use, reduces global warming pollution and saves drivers money, boosting the local economy,” says Michelle Robinson, director of the Clean Transportation Program at UCS. “By joining the ranks of Zero-Emissions Vehicle states, Colorado is acknowledging those benefits and helping to spur a strong electric vehicle market.”
