Society UAEFourth Arab Country Picks up Relations with Former Arch Enemy Israel
Israel and Morocco have decided to normalize their diplomatic relations, a decision most welcome by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the first country to find a new way with the former arch-enemy.
“We welcome the United States recognition of Rabat’s sovereignty over the Moroccan Sahara, as well as the resumption of contacts and diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel,” wrote His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces on Twitter. “This step, a sovereign move, contributes to strengthening our common quest for stability, prosperity, and just and lasting peace in the region.”
Morocco, a long-standing ally to the UAE, becomes the fourth Arab country to put an end to hostilities with Israel in as many months. The two Arab nations intend to grow cooperation on all fronts since it’s in their best interest, including their relations with the Jewish state.
