EnvironmentTechnology NorwayNorway Races Ahead in E-Car Share, May Likely Reach 50% This Year
Tesla sold more cars in Norway in 2019 than ever before: 18,798 of them. This pushed the Nordic country’s share of electric car sales to jump up from 31% in 2018 to a record-breaking 42% the following year.
Norway already has the highest average of electric cars per inhabitant in the world. The country has driven many incentives such as tax exemptions to encourage residents to acquire zero-emitting carbon vehicles.
Oyvind Solberg Thorsen, head of the Road Federation, says the share of electric vehicles could bump up to 50% this year.
