A group of 39 volunteers has taken to the island of Skjervøya, Norway, and collected 200 kg of trash as part of a three-year project aimed at cleaning up the Arctic and doing grassroots research in these areas.
A major cleanup effort is underway in the Baltic Sea, intending to eventually remove more than 1.5 million tons of volatile munitions leftover from the Second World War.
