Society Saudi ArabiaAt Work the World Gets Better and Better for Women (Especially in Saudi Arabia)
The World Bank has published a report showing a global improvement in women’s rights at work since 2017. And Saudi Arabia showed the biggest improvement of all – bettering women’s rights in mobility, sexual harassment and retirement age.
“There’s reason for optimism,” says World Bank President David Malpass. “When women can move more freely, work outside the home and manage assets, they’re more likely to join the workforce and strengthen the economy.”
The report, which evaluated regulations in 190 countries affecting women at work, showed 40 nations introduce enhanced rules such as prolonging maternity leave and protecting women from harassment at work.
