Twibber Stories New ZealandIron Men have Cute Memory to Last Competition before Corona
Just before the corona lockdowns and travel restrictions, the Ironman 70.3 NEW ZEALAND triathlon took place in Taupō, Waikatol.
The local schoolchildren all wrote messages to the athletes competing. These were placed in the race packs so each athlete received a little note with things like “I hope you have fun”, “keep hydrated” and “do your best”. A lot of kids also drew pictures and decorations on the note.
I am sure that in these weird times now many of the participants go back to the notes for a smile and a warm memory!
