After the Big Explosion Artists Go Online to Help my People

We Lebanese people were grieving and thinking why did this terrible thing happen and how can we help our people after the explosion of August 4^th that rocked the city of Beirut and our country Lebanon. 

This is when a friend called me and asked me if I would like to help with an art auction that would take place online with the proceeds going to help re-building houses and hospitals in Lebanon. I gladly joined the team of six lovely and passionate Lebanese women and together we made it happen! And it’s happening now! The auction will start tomorrow on Wednesday 23rd of September at @10.00 am GMT on www.artauctionforlebanon.com!

The Funds raised will go towards four NGOs that are making a real difference on the ground – @Rebuild_Beirut (part of LiveLoveLebanon), @Bebwshebbek, @Assamehbb (Karantina hospital which was fully destroyed and takes care of premature and poor babies), and @CCCL. 70% of all revenues go to them equally, while the remaining 30% goes to the artists, many of whom lost friends, homes, or ateliers, and are struggling with dire economic conditions.

I am still overwhelmed by the amount of beautiful artwork donated by brilliant artists from Lebanon and from all over the world – in total more than 80 artworks from 37 artists including paintings, works on papers, sculptures, photos, and prints – to help to raise funds for our people in Lebanon.
