Donors Join Hands to Better Healthcare Everywhere

Generous donors ensure the World Health Organization (WHO) has the necessary tools to improve healthcare facilities worldwide.

Financial support from donors and member states is allowing for greater reach in WHO’s global capacities. “Flexible” donations, in particular, help WHO support myriad nations and peoples.

Recent success stories include creating a stronger and more efficient Medicines Control Agency in Gambia, donating IT equipment to medical facilities in Uganda that allow for better upkeep of healthcare records, and training public health officials in International Health Regulations in Sri Lanka and the Maldives. WHO is also fundamental in vaccine deployment and helps establish public health facilities and resources in some of the world’s most rural and remote parts. The World Health Organization thanks its generous partners and donors who allow for the continued strengthening of countries’ public health abilities and facilities.
