Fixing Their Station, Lady Astronauts Take Historic Walk in Space

Congratulations! Christina Koch and Jessica Meir, NASA Astronauts in the International Space Station, completed the first all-female space walk.

They floated out feet first and stayed in space for five and a half hours to fix a broken power control unit on the station’s shell. NASA live streamed the action on their website for millions of people around earth to watch as the astronauts worked 418 kilometers above.

NASA will unveil their new spacesuit next week, designed for the next moon landing mission. The suite will be unisex – as the moon crew is expected to include at least one woman.
