Super Star Michael Jordan in Tears as He Opens His First Clinic for the Uninsured

Basketball legend Michael Jordan has opened his first of two medical clinics he is funding in the lower-income area of Charlotte, North Carolina in the United States, to provide uninsured and underinsured families with affordable healthcare.

Jordan, in tears as he shows how grateful he is for his community’s support, promises that these clinics are not one-time efforts, saying, “This is just the start of a battle of being able to touch as many people as we can.”

The $7 million Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Clinic has 12 exam rooms, and x-ray room and a space for physical therapy. Over the next five years, according to a press release from Novant, this and the upcoming second clinic “are projected to care for nearly 35,000 children and adults who do not currently have access to primary and preventive care or who use the emergency room for non-urgent medical needs.”
