Technology United StatesNASA Confirms Existence of a Planet Outside Our Solar System!
NASA’s $10 billion James Webb Space Telescope which was launched back in December 2021 has just confirmed the existence of an exoplanet.
“Webb is bringing us closer and closer to a new understanding of Earth-like worlds outside our solar system, and the mission is only just getting started,” says NASA’s astrophysics division director Mark Clampin.
The rocky exoplanet known as LHS 475 b is located 41 light-years away from Earth and is nearly identical in size to our home planet. LHS 475 b orbits its host star in only two days and is a few hundred degrees warmer than planet Earth. Scientists are not yet sure what LHS 475 b is made of and are hoping to obtain additional information on the exoplanet this summer.
