One less closed border makes the world better: Indian and Pakistani prime ministers, Imran Khan and Narendra Modi, held inaugurations this month of a new visa-free border crossing, intended to allow thousands of Indian pilgrims to visit the Sikh shrine in Pakistan.
The opening ceremony marks a significant step towards better relations between the two countries, who are currently facing frictions over the disputed Kashmir region.
The shrine – known as Gurdwara Darbar Sahib – is the second-holiest place in the Sikh faith, located a mere 4.5 kilometers from Pakistan’s border with India.
