Public Healthcare Revamp: Good News for Millions!

Argentina is modernizing its public healthcare services in a $50 million revamp that is set to benefit 6.5 million uninsured Buenos Aires residents.

“This new project will support the development of an integrated healthcare network in the most vulnerable municipalities of Buenos Aires Province to improve health outcomes as well as to improve preparedness for providing healthcare services in the event of extreme weather events,” says Marianne Fay, World Bank director in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

The money is being funded by the World Bank and is set to provide quality healthcare services to all citizens without discrimination. The project will also help strengthen electronic medical records and further implement telemedicine – a remote medical care solution that is particularly useful when physical relocation is difficult or impossible. “In this way, we continue expanding the right to health of millions of Buenos Aires residents through sustainable and responsible financing,” adds Axel Kicillof, governor of the Province of Buenos Aires.
