Technology USARobot Taxis: a Milestone in the Future of Commuting
Autonomous driving services are on the rise in large cities like Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco, the United States, where there are more than 50,000 paid trips every week.
“We see people from all walks of life use our service to travel carefree, gain independence, reclaim their commute and more,” as per a statement by one such service, Waymo. “Fully autonomous ride-hailing is a reality and a preferred mobility option for people navigating their cities every day.”
Waymo operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The American autonomous driving technology company receives an average of 300 bookings every hour or five bookings every minute. It isn’t the only robotaxi: others, such as Cruise, are also paving the way to the future of ride-hailing.
