Bushfires: Airline Waives Change Fees on Flights to Australia

In response to the devastating bushfires in Australia, Etihad Airways of the United Arab Emirates is giving passengers flying to and from the sovereign country one less thing to worry about: hefty flight change fees.

Around 16,000 Australians live and work in the UAE, and Etihad offers daily flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The southeastern bushfires have killed at least 24 locals and burned more than 5 million hectares of property, while affecting many people’s initial travel plans.

“In addition to passenger fee waivers, the airline will also work in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent to raise funds within the UAE to help support bushfire relief,” says Etihad in a statement.
