Shop Secondhand, Says Major Department Store. And Starts Selling Secondhand…

If you’re in need of new clothes but want to be kinder to the planet, secondhand shopping is one of the most efficient ways to go. Now, department store Nordstrom has made this option a whole lot easier.

The store just launched a resale website called See You Tomorrow, selling returned and damaged merchandise – cleaned and repaired by Yerdle before being put up for resale – for kids and adults of all ages.

“In addition to providing customers more ways to engage with us, See You Tomorrow is another step we’re taking to actively support our commitment to sustainability,” says Pete Nordstrom, co-president of the department store, in a statement. “We’re excited to show our customers another way Nordstrom is striving to leave the world better than we found it and circular fashion is another piece to this puzzle.”

Not only does resale save clothes from ending up in landfills, but they’re a lot more affordable, too. New York City residents are also encouraged to bring in their lightly worn clothing in exchange for a gift card, and the company hopes to soon extend this option to customers across the United States.
