First Thing to Do for Immigrant Volunteers in Germany: Clean up New Year’s Mess!

As there is currently a huge debate about refugees and Muslim immigration going on here in Germany, I was impressed to read about a gratuitous Muslim initiative: in the morning of January 1st, the Muslim community of Ahmadiyya cleaned up cities with brushwoods all over Germany at four o’clock in the morning, following New Year’s Eve’s waste, plastics, firecrackers, bottles, papers and more.

With this initiative, the muslim community is expressing their bond to their German hometowns and also sending a sign of civic involvement.

In the New Year’s trash cleanup actions all over Germany, about 6500 unpaid muslims were involved and helped the municipal waste collection services a lot.
