As two friends who founded CHIO MI, a young sustainable fashion label, we wanted our brand to have a mission for good. We partnered up with Grund für Gutes and Pro Namibian Children e.V. and decided to donate a part of each sweatshirt sale to the Omomas Care Center in Namibia.
Recently, we flew to Namibia to visit the children who live and go to school on the Omomas campus and spend some quality time with them. It was a rewarding experience to be able to give back to them.
We played games, drew with them, and taught them how to sew their own handbags and embroider their clothing. On our last day there, we organized a photo shoot with our statement sweatshirts. The joy on the faces of the kids we collaborated with was truly infectious. They were so happy to be a part of the photo shoot, and their excitement was even greater when they received their own sweatshirts to keep. Working on projects like these reminds us of the importance of giving back to the community and putting people over profit.
