Coffee Beans Build Bridges Between Europe and Africa, Help Women too

As daughters of Ethiopian immigrants in Germany, our vision has been to build a bridge between Ethiopia and Germany – doing good by economical action! That’s why we founded our social business nuruCoffee and our association nuruWomen e.V.

The passion for coffee has always been in the nature of our family. Our mother celebrated traditional coffee ceremonies every Wednesday with much love and pride. In 2014 we traveled to Ethiopia to import these special coffee beans and to support the people which are the most disadvantaged in the value-added chain: Women.

As a social business we want to give Ethiopian women a chance to live a self-determined and independent life. 50 percent of our benefits at nuruCoffee are invested in our association nuruWomen which offers education, training and micro-credits for women. We are proud that we could already support more than 90 women with micro-credits since the launch of nuruCoffee.
