Animal Rights Win: No More Dogs Hunting Foxes for Humans

In Scotland, the United Kingdom, a new law rendered illegal hunting and killing wild mammals with packs of dogs, promoting animal rights in a centuries-old cultural practice.

“This historic news is a huge win for wildlife, locals against the hunt, and of course hunt saboteurs who have spent decades bringing this hunt to their knees,” states the Glasgow Hunt Sabs.

The Hunting with Dogs bill is now in effect after being passed in January and consequently, the Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire Hunt held its final meet after 252 years of practice. Considered an important part of local heritage, fox hunting has been around since the 16th century. To this day, it is a controversial topic across the country with animal rights activists calling the practice cruel and unnecessary.
