Climate Action is a Moral and Economic Imperative, Says This President

The United States takes the lead in the fight against climate change by pledging to cut their emission of greenhouse gases by more than half by 2030, a goal deemed necessary and achievable by environmentalists.

“Those that do take action and make bold investments in their people in a clean energy future will win the good jobs of tomorrow and make their economies more resilient and more competitive. So let’s run that race,” says President Joe Biden. “This is a moral imperative, an economic imperative. A moment of peril but also a moment of extraordinary possibilities.”

President Biden, through his $2.2 trillion infrastructure plan, wants to reduce carbon dioxide output by 50 to 52% compared with 2005 levels by 2030, and eliminate completely net greenhouse gas pollution by 2050. Recently, the low costs of renewable energies have helped to reduce emissions, and climate efforts from cities, states and major companies have proven that sharp reductions are doable.
