Rap Stars Fight Child Labour in Brazil

With officials in Brazil concerned that COVID-19 will lead to increased child labor, labor authorities have responded with a national campaign to raise awareness that will feature a weekly podcast, videos – and a rap song!

The campaign, expected to release twelve social media videos along with its weekly podcast, is intended to help curb child labor. Its slogan: “Covid-19: now more than ever, protect children and adolescents from child labor.”

Setting off the campaign, commissioned in partnership between state bodies including the nation’s Labor Prosecutor’s Office and the United Nations International Labour Organization, is a song called “Sementes” – or Seeds – written by famous Brazilian rappers Emicida and Drik Barbosa.
