Green Cities and Smart Tech for 70 Million Chinese

The Chinese government plans to create a green zone of several mega cities to apply evolving Artificial Intelligence and advanced technology, aiming for a cleaner and smarter earth.

China’s Greater Bay Area (GBA) plan links Hong Kong, Macau and nine other cities in Guangdong to forge the world’s biggest urban area, offering 70 million people high-tech ecological solutions for a low-carbon lifestyle.

With the gradual increase of e-vehicles, the GBA is heading towards an eco-friendly civilization, thanks to the launch of “Made in China 2025” along with Beijing’s new environmental laws which were introduced in 2014.

Flying e-taxis, artificial intelligence and clean energy are but a few of the technological advancements urban tech business are working on in order to implement China’s plans to conserve the GBA’s ecology, aiming towards a sustainable innovation hub.

“China is speed-fighting pollution,” said Christine Loh, chief development strategist at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Loh is optimistic towards GBA’s green future, remarking Hong Kong’s financial role along with its political support towards the low-carbon development plan.
