AnimalsElephants in Denmark Sent to Retire with 1.6 Million Dollars
Ramboline, Lara, Djunga and Jenny no longer need to perform in a circus, thanks to the Danish government’s generous donation of USD 1.6 million and their ongoing mission to protect circus animals.
The elephants will stay at Animal Protection Denmark until they find the government finds them their permanent homes.
As part of a worldwide effort against animal cruelty, Denmark plans to ban the use of wild circus animals this year, similar to the UK’s recent announcement to ban travelling circuses from the same.
Germany also plays a big role in protecting wild animals using technology, with Circus Roncalli becoming the first in the world to use holograms instead of real animals in its acts.
