Electric Wheels for All Public Schools!

All across the United States, the fleet of school buses now includes some 2,000 electric vehicles as part of the administration’s effort to curb air pollution and climate change by funding massively e-buses.

“What we’re announcing today is a step forward in our nation’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gases, to invest in our economy… to invest in building the skills of America’s workforce,” states American Vice President Kamala Harris. “All with the goal of not only saving our children, but for them, saving our planet.”

As part of the federal Clean School Bus Program, a total of $1 billion has been allocated for public school districts to buy their own electric buses. Some 400 school districts in all 50 states, Washington D.C., tribes, and territories now have electric vehicles to transport children. The administration is adamant about transitioning to zero-emission vehicles and lowering air pollution across the country. According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance, 84% of all city buses should be electric by 2030.
