A friend of mine built a school in Koudougou, a small town in Burkina Faso, one of the poorest countries in the world. She is working hard aiming at making this wonderful school one of the leading schools in the country.
And if this were not already a courageous and work intense venture, she founded a university right next to the school.
Now in its second year, the idea of the Burkina Institute of Technology (BIT) is to educate young entrepreneurs with a strong focus on IT, who will create jobs for themselves and their compatriots, thereby incentivising the young and hopeful Burkinabes (as the people in Burkina Faso call themselves) to stay in their home country and help improving living conditions there rather than moving abroad, often for good.
