American country singer-songwriter Dolly Parton has recently launched a line of dog apparel and accessories, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a nonprofit animal sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating neglected animals.
“Puppy Love was my very first record, and six decades later, my love for pets is stronger than ever,” explains the beloved musician and philanthropist. “This inspired me to start my own line of Doggy Parton apparel, accessories, toys, and more, with a little ‘Dolly’ flair.”
The Doggy Parton line, created in partnership with SportPet Designs, includes harnesses that look like minidresses, sparkly leashes, bandanas, blonde wigs, cowboy hats, and faux pearls, but also plush toys like guitars, microphones, and high heels. Made from polyester and other synthetic materials, Doggy Parton appears to be all animal-free. Willa B. Farms Animal Rescue, a nonprofit based in Tennessee, will receive a portion of the proceeds. “We are excited and honored to be partnering with Doggy Parton,” Willa B. Farms states on its website. The animal sanctuary welcomes formerly neglected and abused animals, including horses, pigs, chickens, tortoises, dogs, cats, and rabbits.
