Hundreds of Millions in Funding, for a Greener World

Over €380 million of funding for 168 new environmental and climate projects across Europe has just been approved.

The deal was reached under the LIFE Program, which now has an investment of over €562 million that will be used across all European Union (EU) countries for the following: nature and biodiversity, circular economy and quality of life, climate change mitigation and adaption, and the clean energy transition. The LIFE Program is on track to help the EU become climate-neutral by 2050.

The LIFE Program has been in place since 1992 and has thus far co-financed over 5,500 projects. The program received a 60 percent increase in funding for the period of 2021 through 2027, particularly enhancing the program’s clean energy transition sub-program. The projects under this sub-program will allow for reduced household energy bills and efficient renewable energy projects.
