Kindness Alert: For 48 Hours People Kept on Paying for the Person Behind them in a Drive Through

In a fast-food drive-thru in Minnesota, the United States, more than 900 cars participated in a “pay it forward” chain, where an act of kindness is repaid by being kind to someone else. It lasted more than two whole days!

“There’s all different types of ways to help people,” says Tina Jensen, store manager at the Dairy Queen where the wave of goodness happened. “I think this touched a lot of people that we didn’t even know it touched, deeper than we know. And you don’t know what’s going on in a person’s life.”

It all started when a man decided to pay for the car behind him. Normally, pay it forward chain fizzles after 15 to 20 cars. But this time around, it created a domino effect, and after 900 cars, a total of $10,000 in sales were paid forward. On top of helping people, the chain had a positive impact on the store’s staff as they saw how touched customers were by this act of generosity. “During times like these it kinda restores your faith in humanity a little,” says Heidi Bruse who took part in the kindness chain. “The way the world is now you see a lot of anger, tension, and selfish behavior. What we witnessed was pure kindness and it was a breath of fresh air really.”
