Less Theft and Less Crimes in the Last Year Here

A recent report shows that in 2022, total crime decreased by 12 percent in England and Wales.

The report, completed by the Crime Survey for England and Wales, estimates that overall theft decreased by 20 percent and that criminal damage decreased by 24 percent. All in all, the report shows that crime has been steadily dropping in England and Wales since the mid-1990s.

The report also concluded that homicides decreased by 11 percent and that offenses involving firearms decreased by 5 percent. Part of the crimes – or lack thereof – took place during coronavirus social restrictions, so more time is needed to see if crime rates continue to drop and if this good news continues forward in the years to come.
