Environment BrazilMove Aside, Diesel – EVs Are Taking Over
Brazil is one of Latin America’s leading countries in transitioning toward electric vehicles.
According to the latest study, the past two years have seen a 505 per cent increase in electric vehicle growth in Brazil. Thanks to new models arriving that remain relatively affordable, electric vehicles are more accesible than ever in the region.
This rapid electric vehicle expansion puts Brazil just behind Uruguay and Costa Rica among Latin American countries in transitioning toward more sustainable vehicles. If current trends continue, Brazil’s electric vehicle market share should reach at least 7 per cent or up to 10 per cent by December of this year. Predictions suggest that should certain regions of Brazil begin to adopt faster-charging methods, the trend is likely to skyrocket even further.
