Muscle Car Giant Is Dodging Fossil Fuels, and Going Electric

When 2023 comes to an end, so will the production of fossil-fueled vehicles at the American automobile company Dodge which will only produce more sustainable and clean-powered cars and trucks, even the traditional models.

“We are celebrating the end of an era — and the start of a bright new electrified future — by staying true to our brand,” states Tim Kuniskis, brand chief executive officer at Dodge. “Technology moves forward and the customizers and tuners move right along with it. We’re demonstrating how old-school hot-rodding will thrive in an electrified muscle-car future.”

The last gas-powered lineup will be “Last Call” cars emulating older models – including the SRT Demon 170 – but running on ethanol. Known for its “muscle cars,” Dodge intends to have all-electric versions of them by 2024. A $40,000 electric truck – range extender and extra legroom optional – will also debut in 2024. Earlier this year, the manufacturer released its plug-in hybrid – running on both gas and electricity from an external electrical source – Dodge Hornet, a five-seat compact SUV starting at $30,000. In Dodge’s five-year plan, all its EV endeavors are detailed.
