Solar Energy Grows Substantially here

In 2021, the European Union has seen a 34% growth in installed solar capacity, and the continent itself is on its way to quadrupling its solar energy generation by the end of the next decade, thanks to concerted efforts from all members.

The 27 members of the European Union (EU) reached 25.9 gigawatts of new solar capacity in 2021, meaning that through these installation, enough electricity was produce to power some 8 million houselholds.

According to the trade organization SolarPower Europe, 19.3 gigawatts of new solar energy were produced in 2020. The capacity is expected to reach 328 gigawatts in 2025 and 672 gigawatts by 2030. With all European countries possibly reaching their 2030 solar goals, the EU should be able to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 as planned. So far, Latvia and Estonia have already achieved them, and Poland, Ireland, and Sweden next year.
