Solar Energy Is Taking Over the World!

The latest data suggests that solar energy will quadruple by 2030 while coal, gas, and nuclear power continue to decline.

What’s more, the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) latest World Energy Outlook 2024 report predicts that solar will become the world’s largest source of electricity by 2033.

Energy-related carbon dioxide emissions are set to peak by 2025 while clean energy grows at an unprecedented rate. “Energy security and climate action go hand-in-hand. This is because deploying cost-competitive clean energy technologies represents a lasting solution […] for reducing emissions,” explains IEA’s executive director, Fatih Birol. A central pillar of this year’s latest report is that the global energy system is entering a new era defined by global clean energy. However, the rise in clean electricity is not currently keeping up with the surge in demand, emphasizing that there is still work to be done for a greener, cleaner, and sustainable future, but we may be on the right track.
