Muslim Country Launches Its First Food Delivery Service for Jews

The United Arab Emirates is increasingly encouraging coexistence between cultures, with its newest move towards becoming a global model for tolerance involving Jewish eats: for the very first time in the Muslim nation, a licensed delivery service is offering Kosher food!

“I am so proud to be here in the UAE especially at this moment where tolerance is a core value and way of life,” says Elli Kriel, a South African Sephardi Jew and founder of the delivery service Elli’s Kosher Kitchen. “There are so many similarities to the Jewish and Arabic culture that makes it easy to feel welcomed.”

This move complements the UAE’s historic moment in September 2019, when it announced plans to build a church, a mosque and a synagogue in the same place Abu Dhabi.
