Worrying About the Environment Makes Us More Eco-Conscious, Study Finds

New research has found that many of us are concerned about the climate crisis – and this so-called “eco-anxiety” is causing behavioral changes that is helping to save our environment!

The American Psychological Association study showed that 56 percent out of 2,017 adults surveyed in the United States believe that the climate crisis is society’s most important issue today – and 6 out of 10 of them have made changes in their lifestyle to help curb climate change.

The study defines eco-anxiety as any sort of “worry about climate change and its effects” – and this feeling has proven to be a powerful influence in getting people to make eco-conscious lifestyle changes. According to the research, the two biggest motivations behind Americans taking action are: protecting the planet for future generations and seeing news about the climate crisis and its impacts.
