YouTube Star Wants to Have a Tree Planted for Every Follower – That’s 20 Million!

When famous American YouTuber MrBeast reached twenty million subscribers, his fans asked him to celebrate by fighting the climate crisis and planting twenty million trees – and that’s exactly what he’ll do!

To accelerate the reforestation mission, Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson decided to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation, who will plant a tree for every dollar donated to the project now called #TeamTrees, and hundreds of other YouTubers have been joining in to help.

#TeamTrees has already raised enough money to plant well over 5.6 million trees – of which MrBeast himself donated $100,000 of his own money – with plans to raise enough money for twenty million trees by January 2020.  

“We’re just not planting and walking away,” says Danny Cohn, Arbor Day Foundation director of public relations, explaining that they only work with eco-responsible tree-planting partners that plan to maintain the trees, while only planting native species.
