Fast Food Giants Will Add Plant-Based Burgers to Their Menus

The producer of plant-based meat substitutes Beyond Meat, based in Los Angeles, United States, concluded a partnership with fast food giants to offer their clientele vegan and vegetarian options.

“Our new McPlant platform is all about giving customers more choices when they visit McDonald’s,” says Francesca DeBiase, McDonald’s Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer. “We’re excited to work with Beyond Meat to drive innovation in this space, and entering into this strategic agreement is an important step on our journey to bring deliciously, high quality, plant-based menu items to our customers.”

McDonald’s is testing the McPlant, its new plant-based burger, and working with Beyond Meat to develop meatless options for pork, chicken, and eggs to add to its platform. Chains like KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut are also joining forces with Beyond Meat to please their vegan and vegetarian customers.
