Great News, Working Parents: We’re Reducing Your Childcare Fees Here!

Canada has introduced reduced-cost childcare programs in an effort to ease the burden on working parents.

“Not only is this really good for our economy, not only is this really good for gender quality and for women in the work force, but it’s also really good for setting up our kids for success,” says Karina Gould, Canada’s minister of families, children, and social development.

The Canadian federal government is projected to spend around 30 billion Canadian dollars to create 250,000 new reduced-cost childcare spaces by 2026. The project caps daily childcare fees at 10 Canadian dollars per day, drastically easing the burden for many families. So far, 52,000 reduced-cost childcare centers have been created under the plan. Furthermore, The program enables many working parents, particularly women, to continue advancing in their careers while raising their child(ren).
