Logan City in Australia has been labeled the “drone delivery capital of the world” following a boom in its operations, with delivery being made every 30 seconds during operating hours during a recent Covid-19 lockdown.
The drone delivery service Wing delivers everything from takeaway coffee to hardware to people’s doorstep. It was officially ready for commercial use in Logan City in 2019 but has been increasingly prosperous due to recent Coronavirus lockdowns.
“Not everyone lives within walking distance of the supermarket or coffee shop, so we think Logan is what drone delivery will look like globally,” says Wing spokesperson Jesse Suskin.
Wing hopes to expand further into Europe and the UK, using Logan City as a blueprint for its future operations.
