One Country, One Month, 14 Million Trees

14 million trees are set to be planted in Togo throughout the month of June 2023.

The reforestation campaign is an annual tradition in Togo during the month of June in an effort to fight against global warming. In total, 11,000 hectares of degraded land will be restored, up from 8,256 hectares of restored land in 2022.

The reforestation project coincides with the implementation of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 15 for the protection of biodiversity within the country. Together with the National Committee for Sustainable Development, the Togolese governmental branches of environmental protection are focusing on the reforestation of forests that have been damaged by drought and natural disasters.
