Safe Cities Compete for Ranking in Urban Security

The Economist Intelligence Unit announced the world’s safest cities in an index encouraging urban safety planning, assessing digital, health, infrastructure, and personal security.

This year’s Safe Cities Index ranked 60 cities based on their “urban resilience”, or how they take in and manage all sorts of shocks from climate disasters to cyber-attacks.

Tokyo remains the world’s safest city as in the previous editions of 2015 and 2017, with Singapore and Osaka also keeping their places in the top three.
