“Vote for Our Country’s New Logo and We’ll Plant a Tree” UAE Pledges

The United Arab Emirates is using its new official logo selection to help tackle climate change: for every vote submitted from anywhere in the world, a tree will be planted in Nepal and Indonesia.  

10.6 million votes from 186 countries have been recorded to help determine the UAE’s new logo for the next five decades, while protecting biodiversity, food security and communities affected by climate change.

“The unique call to global audiences reinforces the humanitarian and global aspect that distinguishes the UAE and reflect its deeply-rooted values of openness, coexistence and tolerance,” says the UAE Nation Brand in a statement.

The voting outcome means 10 million trees will be planted, including mangroves and tropical rainforests in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Indonesia and Nepal in need of maintaining marine biodiversity and saving species at risk of extinction.
