Back to Nature for Coastal Areas in the U.S. to Fight Storm and Flood Impacts

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the United States is set to save their coastlines from the disasters of climate change by bringing many areas back to their natural condition – and they’re funding projects that help do just that.

Coastlines in the nation and around the world are heavily threatened by damaging weather caused by climate impacts, such as hurricanes, flooding, rising sea levels and high temperatures, to name a few.

NOAA says grants through the coastal resilience program will go 23 U.S. states towards projects that improve coastal resilience. They plan to rebuild, restore or expand areas crucial to coastal protection, including wetlands, dunes, reefs, mangroves and barrier islands.
