Cleaner Water Across the Country

Cambodia has made remarkable progress in access to clean water and sanitation facilities.

As of 2024, 87 percent of the population had access to basic clean water, while 92 percent of the population had access to basic sanitation facilities.

Positive trends can be seen across Cambodia in 2024, with significant improvements in living conditions for rural communities. In particular, Cambodia’s Ministry of Rural Development has been commended for its commitment to improving communities’ hygiene services and overall quality of life. Further public awareness campaigns, such as educational videos, will soon be circulated to help eliminate open defecation and encourage hygienic practices. Though Cambodia still has work to do, recent years are promising indicators of a better future for all.
