Society GermanyGermany Spends Half a Billion to Buy Computers for Students in Homeschooling
After the coronavirus lockdown shut down schools across Germany, students and teachers turned to online classes. To ensure no one is left behind, the nation is investing 550 million euros on laptops and tablets for low-income families in need.
“The Corona crisis must not become an education crisis,” says Federal Minister of Education and Research Anja Karliczek.
An addition to the Digital Pact, the federal government and the states of Germany will be making more money available to schools, so that they can equip students who are struggling to access the necessary digital devices.
