Search Engine Giant Says “Yes!” to Remote Work

In keeping with the times, the American multinational technology company Google is granting most of its staff to work remotely or be transferred once its offices reopen for business.

“And some organizations have made a commitment to invest in key growth sites and are working to build their teams and critical mass in those particular hubs,” says Fiona Cicconi, Google’s head of human resources.

Out of about 10,000 requests made to work from home or from another office, 85% have been approved, and the remaining 15% had to be rejected as they require handling specialized equipment or facetime with customers. But even the rejected applicants are allowed to reapply for a transfer or for the possibility to work remotely.
